Although the principle
costs of this trip have been self-funded we have been fortunate enough to
acquire the assistance of a few sponsors who have gone out of their way to
assist us with our endeavour. We would like to thank the following people for
their kind support:
Loman Hellier @
Scottoiler
Provided 2
Scottoiler chain lubricators for the bikes.
Paul Binswanger &
Peter Locke @ Motobins
Located up at Spalding in Lincolnshire, Motobins have been invaluable throughout
the equipping and fitting out of our bikes, including the Hepco & Becker
Panniers. Paul Binswanger took a personal
interest in our venture and provided comprehensive spares kits for each of the
bikes including a CD workshop manual. Motobins are an invaluable source for all
BMW motorcycle parts and are also the UK distributor for Hepco
& Becker aluminium pannier kits.
John & Janet Duff @
Bike Stop
Stevenage has a long heritage of motorcycling, going way back to when that most
illustrious of British marques, 'Vincent' were made here. Little remains of this
now, but Stevenage Old Town does have Bike Stop, one of the best motorcycle
clothing & accessory shops in the UK. John & Janet provided excellent advice on
selecting our personal kit and helped with discounted ARAI Tour X Helmets,
Autocom Bike-to-Bike Intercom kit and Dainese clothing.
Thanks also to the
Hein Gericke shops at Harrow & Belfast and Sawbridgeworth BMW for
help & support in obtaining kit for the trip.
Paul Fox @ Kuehne &
Nagel
For organising the shipment of the bikes out to Chile. Paul's professional help
took a lot of the pain & worry out of what we thought would be a major
logistical nightmare.
Jonathan Groves @
urban.design.squad & Robert Dolby @ PureBlue Studios
Design, build and hosting of our original Website.
Hilary Carmichael &
Tina Milan @ Ultraseal
Provided tyre puncture sealant for the bikes.
Ryan Fairweather @
Revolution Decals
Discounted Artwork for Pannier Decals.
Les Wood @
Saddlecraft
Silicone Gel Pad inserts for bike seats.
Steve & Darren @
Festaworld
Cool T-Shirts at
NASS 2003!
Andy Thompson @ Anti
Monkey Butt Corporation
Anti Monkey Butt
Powder and T-Shirts! Anti Monkey Butt saved our Asses!
Jim & Maggie
Mathieson @ Sea-Air International
For arranging
the return of the bikes to the UK from Vancouver. Like Paul at K&N they had
things quickly in hand and took away all the pain and worry of shipping home at
the end of the road.
